This adventure often begins while we are in college and while we are looking for that new place to call home. We move out of our parents’ house, we’re out on our own and somehow stumble upon this crazy sport. Unbeknownst to us, this is a life-changing experience. New to just about everything, it can be hard to know where to turn for safe information.
College Skydiving is an organization with a purpose of assisting college students in finding the safe, lifelong track of pursuing this sport. The mission of this organization is to provide a one-stop conglomerate of skydiving information contributed by the top professionals and researchers in the sport.
This organization will uphold and support the five goals stated by the USPA (United States Parachute Association) for the National Collegiate Competition: learning, safety, competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Of these, camaraderie is a main focus. These goals will be utilized to develop and foster a community of collegiate skydivers by facilitating communication between schools. The relationships developed will be beneficial to all people through their progression in the sport and will enable everyone to have contacts once they graduate and move on to their next stage of life.
This organization will absolutely remain non-profit, using any and all funds raised to assist in the annual hosting of the National Collegiate Competition, and to provide accomplished assistance in the progression of a first jump skydiver into an avid and productive member of the skydiving community.
The first priority of College Skydiving is to provide safe and reliable information to all skydivers. This organization will accomplish this while abiding by the rules and regulations set forth by the USPA.
The philosophy of this website is that knowledge is more valuable than funding. With this in mind, we are asking for support from vendors in the medium of informational articles that will assist maturing skydivers in their quest for learning and perfecting the sport.
Although this organization relies on knowledge for its driving fuel, the inherent nature of the sport of skydiving requires us to meet certain equipment and maintenance needs. Any and every contribution is welcome with much appreciation by every current and future member of this outstanding community.
